Double Esterlon/Double-Braided Polyester Fiber Winch Ropes

UEP offers winch ropes, and has a wide selection of high-quality, abrasion-resistant ropes for the utility industry.

The Double Esterlon/Polyester Double-Braided winch rope is designed for Digger Derricks and Material Handlers. It is constructed of high tenacity 1W81 polyester fiber which has a unique cordage finish and is completely splice-able. Double Esterlon has an average strength of 9.2 grams per denier and extraordinary lubricity, making it the highest strength double-braid polyester available. Double Esterlon Polyester Double-Braided winch ropes have an excellent combination of high strength and low stretch, giving it outstanding wear life even when the load is excessive.

We offer many sizes of winch ropes, from ¼” up to 2” diameter, any length. Your rope can be customized to your needs, with a variety of Crosby hooks or just a standard eye on each end.

And, our ropes are available coated with optional Maxijacket (MJ) – a urethane coating that further enhances the rope’s wear resistance.

Tiiger Pole Pullers

Tiiger Pole Pullers offer safe, quick, and economical removal of utility poles. The individual components are easily assembled at the pole removal site. They include the hydraulic cylinder, swivel assembly, base plate, and pole puller pad. The pad is constructed of strong yet flexible high density polyethylene that supports and prevents the base plate from sinking into soft soil. The base plate is lightweight yet constructed with high yield-strength steel. It is designed with the unique round centering bar for proper placement of the cylinder and uniform distribution of the downward load. Properly positioned within the four bushings on the pad, the base is prevented from pushing away from the pole. The combination of the pad and base plate provides the lowest possible center of gravity and minimizes the potential for the cylinder to tip.

A pole can be cut only 14 inches above ground and still allow the use of the Tiiger Pole Puller. The heart of the system is the lightweight hydraulic cylinder with a lift capacity exceeding 50,000 pounds. Weighing in at only 57 pounds, it still provides a lifting capacity greater than or equal to other pole pullers. The Tiiger Pole Puller requires only a low pressure hydraulic supply limited to a maximum of 2800 PSI. The cylinder is manufactured with high-strength steel tubing with the hard chrome plated piston rod. Two handles make for an ergonomic design resulting in low handling stress for the operator. A 16-inch stroke means two to three lifts per pole removal.

Tiiger Cube

The Tiiger Cube is a compact gas-powered single stage hydraulic pump designed for use in remote or confined spaces. The Tiiger Cube is specially designed for the Tiiger Pole Puller and is simple to operate. Set the on-off switch to on and open the fuel line switch, set the choke and throttle, pull the recoil starter and off you go!  The Tiiger Cube is equipped with 10-inch all-terrain tires providing ease of mobility.

Tiiger Pole Dolly

The Tiiger Pole Dolly allows the pole to be easily moved by two people — one person steering the dolly and the second holding and guiding one end of the pole. Lifting a 45-foot pole and placing it on Tiiger Pole Dolly and then moving it in any direction is accomplished by positioning the pole in the roller cradle at the balance point of the pole. Its unique feature of 180 degree steering allows complete mobility. The dolly is maneuverable in confined spaces, being only 32 inches wide and constructed with high-yield strength steel. The pole dolly is equipped with large turf-friendly tires mounted on hubs complete with sealed roller bearings. The axles incorporate machined kingpins with bronze bushings and are equipped with grease fittings. There are three steering positions — front, left or right side. The pole roller cradle is constructed with high strength steel and equipped with high molecular weight polyethylene rollers.

Sliding Stanchions

The Sliding Stanchion provides a convenient way to position poles. Each stanchion is equipped with an over-center, variable tension, cam-lock assembly that locks into position using its large handle lever, and is completely adjustable to fit various sizes of channel type or I-beam bolsters.

Collapsible Reels

The Collapsible Reel is used to take up wire or small diameter cable. The design allows the wire to be wound onto the reel and then removed in a neat coil by turning the handle which collapses the outer rim of the pick-up reel.

Nylaflow Tubing

Nylaflow tubing is the highest quality pressure tubing for hydraulic lines (1/4”) and air lines (1/8”) for utility trucks and digger derricks. UEP offers Type H tubing that is the stiffest of all nylons and ideal for carrying hydraulic oil and air for your unit. Properties of Type H Nylaflow tubing — 625 psi operating pressure; 2,500 psi bursting pressure. UEP always has a good supply of Nylaflow Type H tubing, priced less than other vendors.

Screw Anchor Wrenches and Accessories

Utility Equipment Parts offers parts to assemble your screw anchor wrench –  Kelly bar adapter, locking dog assembly, and drive end. Depending on soil conditions, you may need an extension assembly as well. They come in 3.5 ft. and 7 ft. lengths.

A complete Screw Anchor Assembly consists of:

• Kelly Bar Adapter
  • Square 2 1/2″ or 2 1/4″ or
  • Hex 2″, 2 1/2″, 2 5/8″

The Kelly Bar Adapters feature a 5 1/4″ bolt circle. They include  6 ea. qty. 1/2″ bolts, nuts, and washers. The wrench is attached to the Kelly bar of your digger derrick via the Kelly bar adapter. The locking dog assembly holds the anchor rod in place. The Kelly bar adapter and locking dog assembly bolt together. If you’re installing screw anchors that require torques of up to 10,000 ft.-lbs, the Kelly bar adapter and locking dog assembly have six ½” bolt holes on a 5-1/4” bolt circle. For jobs that require installing torques up to 15,000 ft.-lbs, we offer larger Kelly bar adapters, locking dogs, and drive end assemblies.

If you have a Pengo utility auger on your digger derrick, we offer a tool that allows you to install anchors without having to remove the auger. It is the SAT-85 Screw Anchor Tool and works with Pengo dirt augers equipped with the FH-205 pilot. The SAT-85 just slips over the FH-205 pilot and you’re ready to install anchors.
