High quality, abrasion-resistant tow and winch ropes for bucket trucks and the utility industry.
UEP offers winch ropes for just about every application — single braids that are less bulky on the drum, double braids that offer core protection, as well as dyneema fiber, a 12 strand rope that is size-for-size, the same strength as steel. These products have low stretch and high strength properties which provide the control necessary in lifting operations.
Double Esterlon fiber winch ropes are made of double-braided polyester fiber. And for winch rope diameters of 1-1/2″ and above we offer polydyne cordage, a high strength double-braided rope. Polydyne utilizes a polyester sleeve over a nylon core. The tougher polyester jacket makes this a long wearing rope with extraordinary dynamic capabilities.
Double Braided Winch Rope
Double Esterlon has an average strength of 9.2 grams per denier and extraordinary lubricity, making it the highest strength, double-braid polyester available. There are few things you can’t lift or pull and few situations you can’t get out of with our polyester winch rope for bucket trucks. The double esterlon winch line rope has an excellent combination of low stretch and high strength, giving it outstanding wear life even when the load is great.
We offer many sizes of winch ropes – from ¼ inch up to 2-5/8 inches diameter. Any length. The rope can be customized to your needs, with a variety of Crosby hooks available. Common length ropes can ship same day or next day. If you need a custom length winch line rope with maximum lifting capacity, we can handle that too.
Double esterlon polyester double braided rope offers high break strength for your winch line rope and tow rope. The 2-5/8 inch tow rope has a break strength of 200,000 lbs!
And our ropes are available coated with optional Maxijacket (MJ) – a urethane coating that further enhances the rope’s wear resistance.

Synthetic Rope vs Steel Cable
Winch ropes made of polyester fiber has many advantages over steel cable. Winch rope is abrasion-resistant and does not rust or develop burrs as it wears from use. No gloves are needed to handle winch rope, and it’s lighter and easier to store. In addition, winch rope is a safer alternative to steel cable — rope does not store energy so when it snaps it drops straight to the ground.
